PVC este alegerea uzuală pentru transport general de produse ambalate, cu cost redus. Poliuretanul se folosește în industria alimentară, la contact direct cu produsul, fiind mai ușor de curățat și rezistent la grăsimi. Cauciucul, cu inserții textile, se folosește pentru materiale grele și abrazive, unde contează rezistența la impact și uzură.

Ce lungime maximă poate avea un conveior cu bandă dintr-o singură bucată?

Limitarea nu este dată de bandă, ci de puterea de antrenare, de tensiunile din bandă și de posibilitățile de transport la locație. În practică, pentru trasee lungi se folosesc mai multe tronsoane conectate, fiecare cu antrenare proprie. Această soluție simplifică și mentenanța, întrucât o defecțiune afectează doar un tronson.

Cum se face îmbinarea benzii pe un conveior?

Există trei metode. Îmbinarea mecanică, cu agrafe sau balamale, permite montarea și demontarea rapidă fără scoaterea conveiorului din linie. Îmbinarea termică, prin sudură sau vulcanizare, oferă o suprafață continuă, fără elemente metalice — obligatorie acolo unde se folosesc detectoare de metale. Îmbinarea mixtă combină cele două abordări.
